Nothing gives us greater pleasure than knowing what we are doing is making a difference.  Playing a part within our local community to 'put something back' is an important part of our family and business.

As such, we were delighted to receive news that The Harpenden Guide - the community app we designed and built to help support our local community has been shortlised for an Award - The 'Positive Impact' Award - at this year's Hertfordshire Business Awards.

When we launched the App at the height of the Covid lockdowns earlier this year, we wanted to create something that helped local people and supported local businesses. It felt timely as part of our annual commitment to put something back into our local community.

After sounding out a few people we took the plunge and in January 2021, The Harpenden Guide was launched as a free Community App to help local people and to support local businesses.

Little did we know at the time that in less than 6 months, nearly 3,000 local people would be regularly using the App on their mobile devices to keep up-to-date with local news, community information and updates.

And that's continuing to grow every day.

Everything from 'What's On' and 'Covid Updates' to providing a directory of local businesees to help them promote themselves to local people.

And now The Harpenden Guide Community App has been shortlisted as a Finalist for the 'Positive Impact' Award - WOW! 

There's nothing more rewarding than 'giving back' and helping to make a difference in the lives of others and we hope that the small contribution we have made to our local community spurs others on to do the same.

Of course, we're over the moon that 'The Harpenden Guide' Community App has been recognised in this way and hope that the App goes all the way and wins the Award but, more importantly, continues to keep making a positive impact on our local community.
